Waste Water Treatment

- The
Clearstream Wastewater Treatment System is one of the finest aerobic wastewater systems available today and
Foster Trenching, Inc
.was responsible for achieving approval for their use in Michigan. We have the most experience in both the design and installation of aerobic systems in the state of Michigan, with well over
400 systems installed. The system converts the sewage from your residence or business into a clear, odorless liquid. This high degree of treatment is accomplished at a remarkably low operating cost per month and
is the same treatment used by the most modern municipal or industrial treatment plants.
The system has been simplified over the years to make it inexpensive to operate and low in long term maintenance costs. Home owners who have lived with the nuisance of septic odor lingering in their neighborhood will truly appreciate the pleasure of owning a Clearstream System. Clearstream Systems, easily comply with NSF Standard 40 for Class I systems.
- The Clearstream Wastewater Treatment system operates in the extended aeration mode of the activated sludge process. This system, through aeration and clarification, provides a proper environment for aerobic bacteria and other micro-organisms that convert the incoming sewage into organiclly stable water. Test results taken from actual in-service applications consistently average below the United States Environmental
Protection Agency requirements for
direct discharge
of treated effluent.
- Due to the high quality of the effluent discharged from the Clearstream System, we are allowed to reduce the size of the final disposal area and place the bottom of the field closer to the seasonal high water table, in the Mid Michigan District Health Department counties of Gratiot, Clinton and Montcalm. Because this discharge is essentially water, it does not create a clogging matt and will percolate in heavy
soils much better than conventional septic water.
- The simple compact design of the Clearstream System makes it easy to install and maintain. The 115V aerator is located remotely to prevent water damage or corrosion that can occur in tank mounted aerators. The aerator uses very little electricity and is easily replaced in less than/5 minutes. This durable, high quality aerator will last many years and is inexpensive to repair or replace. A Clearstream audio/visual
alarm panel will notify the home owner immediately in the event of component or accessory malfunction.
- The Clearstream Model 500N Wastewater Treatment System has been exensively tested by NSF, International under the lengthy and in-depth testing procedures of NSF Standard 40. Class 1 units must achieve a 30 day average of less than 25 mg/l CBOD and less than 30 mg/l TSS. Actual Clearstream test results averaged 9 mg/l CBOD and 6 mg/l TSS.
- The Clearstream System is warrantied for two (2) full years parts and labor. If the equipment is defective, we will repair or replace the part.
- The Clearstream System is one of the most cost effective treatment systems on the market. The Clearstream 500 N aerator uses about the energy of a large light bulb. At 8 cents per kilowatt hour, that translates to about $7.50 per month.
- Below you will find a parts diagram showing how simple the Clearsteam system is. These systems have only one moving part-the aerator. The tank is made of sturdy fiberglass construction that is easy to install. Using long lasting, non-corrosive components that are easy to service without digging in your yard. The aerator uses a rugged long life motor and cast iron vane compressor.
